Envision and Develop Your Career Strategy
A musician, visual artist, social activist and teacher, Heather Bishop has been awarded the Order of Canada, Order of Manitoba, and the YM/YWCA Woman of Distinction Award.
Her credits include: designing a Pre-Trades Training Course for Women with RRCC, being a faculty teacher at Aboriginal Music Camp, and teaching her Business Basics Workshop for Manitoba Music.

November 22, 2 pm curator Natasha Peterson with artists Sarah Ciurysek and Dominique Rey.  Exhibiting artists also include: Owen Kydd, Nicolás Lamas, Tyler Los-Jones. 
The exhibition will provoke discussion on photography by looking at the various practices of photo-based artists whose work questions our ontological understanding of the medium.

An Evening of Wanderings
Video Pool Media Arts Centre will be hosting a fun filled evening!!
  • 6:30 pm snacks, drinks and mingling.
  • 7:00 pm Artlink Magazine Launch - Video Pool Director Dr. Melentie Pandilovski and Dr. Praba Pilar will launch the most recent issue, featuring articles about Video Pool's Toxicity exhibit (December 2013/January 2014. 
  • 7:15 pm Artist Talk - Helga Jakobson’s practice is a reflective attempt to quantify experience.  Her practice now includes participant interaction, performance, natural healing treatments, scientific research, and its dissemination.
  • Helga and Melentie will be launching Video Pool's new BioArt Chapter.
  • 8:00 pm Canadian Premiere of Architecture of and Atom (62 mins) and Winnipeg and the Infinite Whistle (short) directed by Juliacks

Dry Media: The Herbarium Art Workshop, hosted by Hilda Hildegard Hildebrand
Facilitated by Chantal Dupas, Helga Jakobson, Dawn Wood, and Diana Sawatzky.

Artists will view specimens beneath dissection microscopes, and capture images with a microscope camera. Projects resulting from the workshop will be shown in a group exhibit at the Edge Gallery from February 20 - March 6, 2015.
