The Boundless 

Hosted by Winnipeg International Writers Festival Director Charlene Diehl as part of McNally Robinson Booksellers and the Winnipeg International Writers Festival’s Spring Literary Series.

Will Everett finds himself with a first-class ticket for The Boundless. The longest, most glamorous locomotive in the world, it stretches more than eleven kilometres long and pulls an astounding 987 cars: passenger cars, shooting galleries, gardens, an onboard swimming pool, cinema and much more. 

Kenneth Oppel is the Governor General’s Award–winning author of the Airborn series and the Silverwing saga. His most recent novels include This Dark Endeavour, finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award; and Such Wicked Intent, finalist for the CLA Young Adult Book Award.

At the Nobel Archives a psychiatrist discovers six letters addressed to Mr. Ragnar Solman, executor of Alfred Nobel’s will. All but one by a different Nobel laureate, and each an explanation of why and how Stonehenge was constructed.

Harry Karlinsky is a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.

A love story that deals with many of the complicated issues, while providing insight that may be helpful for caregivers of someone with Alzheimer’s. 

Tom Pearson cared for his wife Lynne from her diagnosis at age 50 until her passing at age 63.  Tom will donate part of the proceeds of each book to the Alzheimer’s cause.

Featuring an introduction by Winnipeg composer/director Danny Schur. 

A strike gripped Winnipeg from May 15 to June 26, 1919. What was really happening in Winnipeg? In an information age dominated by newspapers and magazines, the public turned to reporters and editors for answers. 

Michael Dupuis, a retired Canadian history teacher and writer, was a consultant for Danny Schur’s Winnipeg General Strike documentary Mike’s Bloody Saturday and an advisor to the CBC for the television special Titanic: The Canadian Story
