A collection of elegies for an unconventional spouse and artistic collaborator, lost to addiction at a young age, tracing tenderness and sorrow while raging against his night.
Catherine Owen is the author of nine collections of poetry and one collection of memoirs and essays. Frenzy won the Alberta Book Prize. Katherine Bitney, author of four acclaimed books of poetry and one collection of essays, has worked as editor, mentor, creative writing instructor, arts juror and literary creative director for over thirty years.

Pearls from the Ocean
Parvin Shere’s new publication, based on her recent travel to South Africa, Swaziland and Peru, is focused on Apartheid and Inca civilization, included with related poetry and oil paintings of those places. Featured speakers include:
Ray Dirks: Writer, Curator of exhibits featuring art from around the world
Professor Dr. Jon Gerrard: Medical doctor, MP from 1993 to 1997, Ex-Secretary of State and former leader of Manitoba Liberal Party
Professor Catherine Hunter: Poet, Novelist, Critic, Professor of Creative Writing and former Chair Department of English (UofW)
Poet, writer, painter and musician Parvin Shere has received many awards, including a UNICEF award for helping the needy, and was nominated for the prestigious Woman of Distinction Award in Winnipeg.
