Thread has wound its way into every aspect of my life and work. At first, thread was merely used to stitch fabrics together.  Thread is becoming increasingly paramount in the way I use it to express concepts in my work. Ripping, cutting and stitching are processes that satisfy a deep need to destroy, expose and create my own tale of beauty.

Mira Black is going back to school, to study jazz theory with Will Bonness, jazz composition with Quincy Davis and jazz history with Steve Kirby. The result will a brand new repertoire of compositions, debuted at her Nu Sounds series performance in April.
