Omens

Kelley Armstrong launches Omens, the first book in a brand-new series set in Cainsville, a small town as fascinating as Stephen King’s Castle Rock or Dean Koontz’s Moonlight Bay.  Olivia's seemingly perfect life is shattered by the news that she is adopted and her real parents are notorious serial killers, who are each serving a life sentence.

Kelley Armstrong is the bestselling author of the Women of the Otherworld series, the Nadia Stafford crime series, and two bestselling YA trilogies, Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising. She lives in rural Ontario.

Manitoba Chamber Orchestra Pre-Concert Chat
September 10, 7:30 pm in the Travel Alcove

Canadian piano star Jan Lisiecki’s MCO debut in 2011 featured his take on Chopin; this time it will be a special arrangement of Grieg’s A minor piano concerto (Op. 16) by Canadian composer Michael Oesterle.
As Lisiecki’s usual repertoire is for larger ensembles, Music Director Anne Manson asked Oesterle to work on an arrangement of this piece by Grieg for chamber orchestra.
Lisiecki will discuss his career, his music, and his approach to the work of Grieg.
