Just Like Nanna Used to Make

In southern Italy, in the region of Calabria, where the mountains reach the sky and the land touches the sea; where food and culture are rich in love like the people who prepare the food. The mountains and the sea produce the food and flavours which awaken the soul and heart of any Italian. This book celebrates the traditional cooking of southern Italy, and the prettiest village in Calabria, called Miglierina just outside Cantazro.
As Nanna used to say, "Cooking with love is the way to your family heart".

Leo Umphrey is a graduate of Culinary Arts at Okanogan University College, who has worked at various restaurants and resorts and now resides in Winnipeg.
This cook book is dedicated to Carol Pallone, his mother-in-law.

Sarasvàti Productions presents:
Jail Baby
By Hope McIntyre and Cairn Moore

After years of working with the Elizabeth Fry Society, conducting research and facilitating drama sessions with incarcerated women we are excited to share the Jail Baby with audiences.
In this powerful new play, hilarious parody is interspersed with the harsh reality of the cycle of incarceration. This striking new play was workshopped at FemFest in 2011 and received overwhelming support.
We will also be hosting panels after selected performances in order to hear from former offenders, community organizations, victims’ groups and those who work in the system.

Tickets and updates on our panels can be found on our website.
