Growing Local Conference 2013 l To Make a Farm l Sharing Our Food Stories session for Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative workers


From Aquaponics to Zesty Salads, the Growing Local Conference 2013 is shaping up to offer something for everyone!

Opening night will kick off with a screening of "To Make a Farm," which is open to all.

March 1 & 2 promises two full days of workshops and displays from various food security organizations at the Marlborough Hotel.  

Conference streams include:
  • DIY (Do It Yourself) hands-on food skills and production workshops
  • Sustainable Agriculture
  • Indigenous and Northern Issues
  • Food Justice
  • Health

The second annual Sharing Our Food Stories session will be held on February 28 at the Marlborough Hotel, on the 8th Floor, preceding the Growing Local conference. This event is open to all Aboriginal Diabetes Initiative workers from the provinces sixty-three First Nations, and community members who are involved in the Northern Healthy Foods Initiative.  Click here for more information.
