Winnipeg author, Sally Ito, is on kakigori duty tonight and Saturday at the Japan Pavilion, as part of Folklorama.
According to Sally, the Kakigori machine has been a real hit this summer.

The Japan Pavilion, featuring the theme Taste of Japan Under the August Moon, is where you will experience our beautiful country through food, drink, entertainment and cultural display.
The Pavilion is located at Sisler High School, 1360 Redwood Avenue.
Savour our teriyaki chicken, sushi or Japanese curry and sample a Kirin, Sapporo, Asashi beer, Japanese sake or Shochu liqueur. Be entertained by the Japanese drum group Hinode Taiko, Aurora Dance Group, Kaede Dance Group and singer Shayna. Learn about the uniqueness of Japanese culture with flower arranging, kimono dressing, tea ceremony and martial arts demonstrations.
Another example of Japanese ingenuity being demonstrated is Furoshiki gift wrapping!
Children can also have fun with games or crafts reflecting the Japanese culture at our kids table.
