Fire & Smoke and The Empty Standards at Times Change(d)

This is one Saturday at the Times you don't wanna miss!

Kicking things off at 10:00 pm is folk and bluegrass duo Fire & Smoke,
followed by the country roots stylings of The Empty Standards!

So, come on down on Saturday, April 9 at Times Change(d) High and Lonesome Club,
234 Main Street.

First drawn together at a Winnipeg Folk Fest campground jam, Claire Morrison and Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner discovered in each other the potential for what is now musical partnership Fire & Smoke. With her dark, rich voice and his feel-them-in-your-bones harmonies, the pair’s sensual interpretation of songs both original and borrowed is at once heartfelt and mischievous.

Since forming in the Winter of 2008, The Empty Standards have written a stack of original material and crafted a sound that brings the crowd to the dance floor every time. They have been crowd favorites at festivals such as Harvest Moon Festival and Rainbow Trout Music Festival, and are being spun on CBC, UMFM and CKUW.
