Amnesty International Winnipeg (Group 19)

Amnesty International Winnipeg (Group 19) exposes torture, helps stop human rights violations and promotes global awareness. 

They are advocates of human rights for all. 

Founded in 1961 by British lawyer Peter Benenson, Amnesty International grew to 70,000 members in 65 countries during its first ten years. 
Today there are almost two million Amnesty members around the world. 

Amnesty International works to free prisoners of conscience.  
Amnesty is an independent, democratic movement.  
Members always decide on any new directions for Amnesty’s mission. 

The monthly meetings take place on the second Thursday of each month at 
397 Carlton Street (Welcome Place Conference Room). 
They run from 7:00 pm to 8:50 pm 
Orientation to newcomers at 6:30 pm 
There is no cost.
Everyone is welcome.
